All the bragging about Tmobile in the 3rd world went to not. We had NO service all afternoon. We white people are called blanc in Haiti. That simply means white… in my case it is very true head to foot. You all, we are very blessed here in Nan wo. This past July we added […]

Good morning America!

by Harley on November 14, 2015 Leave a Comment

I’m sure of it; my early morning walk found NO Starbucks out here… Saturday morning Market Day in Dessalines, the world is alive with people making their way from their farms to the big city to sell there products and buy or trade for what they might need. Dreams are good…

by Harley on November 14, 2015 Leave a Comment

It’s so great to be here with my friend Paster Louinet. This man is a man of vision. Sometimes his vision makes Dixie crazy, “Louinet how will we pay for this?” “Don’t worry, Dixie, it’s not a problem, I’ll pay for it.” The big gate was one of his surprises for Dixie. He was correct, […]

The story behind the work on the school

by Harley on November 13, 2015 Leave a Comment

The story behind the work on the school is really cool. Maybe I’ll share it some time… some of the worker’s are graduates from our school. Education is a big part of Hope in Haiti’s mission. To date there are 14 schools affiliated with HiH. The teachers are not trained like our teachers in the […]

I made a list of great accomplishments here in Nan wo Haiti which will never get sent off to you all because there just isn’t enough time. This place is nothing like home, lest you look deep. I’m starting today with the grim fact of life here. If you’re alive, you’re going to die. As […]

Blessings sometimes come in small packages!

by Harley on November 13, 2015 Leave a Comment

As many of you know we have no power in Nan wo Haiti. The solar panel we use is to small to keep up with our power needs for the computer which we use for student updates, and cell phone/camera batteries, etc. Brandon the tiny little generator you gave Dixie has made it to Haiti. […]

Progress comes in many forms

by Harley on November 12, 2015 Leave a Comment

Progress comes in many forms, some times it is in the form of a changed life other times it a simple thing like a school desk. With the 4 new school rooms, came the need of furnishing the rooms. Two big items are school desks and chalk boards. Issabelle, Savannah, Isaac, Paul, and Rebecca all […]

Miracles in Haiti

by Dixie on November 12, 2015 Leave a Comment

Louinet was called about 3 am last night saying a mother and her two daughters a mile down the road had just fallen over and died. He called two men from the church and they quickly went down to pray for them. The women had risen early to start a fire and cook food to […]

We have been blessed in so many ways!

by Harley on November 12, 2015 Leave a Comment

We have been blessed in so many ways! Over time many relationships have formed and are getting deeper each trip. Pictured see Isabelle and Belzina working on kitting stocking caps. Belzina’s first husband passed away leaving her alone with 6 kids. She quickly allowed a man into her life who left her pregnant with her […]
