Hello my friends! Kathy and I are in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona for Global Training Network’s annual leadership meetings and staff retreat. We are looking forward to connecting with our colleagues from all over the United States. It will be a rich time of iron sharpens iron as we collaborate, strategize and pray for future ministry opportunities. On February 6th, Kathy and I completed 12 years of ministry with GTN. We are incredibly grateful for the privilege God has given us, to train and encourage pastors in some of the most needy countries of the world. Colossians 1:28-29 says, “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.” God has used these verses to navigate my life and ministry. It is the core of God’s call on my life, to pour into people the good news of the gospel and God’s greater Kingdom plan.
Haiti 2017
We began 2017 with a powerful week of ministry in Dessalines, Haiti. Thank you for your prayers! We had a full week with tremendous fruit! Here are the highlights:
Jerry Pryor and I provided Biblical training for 48 pastors and leaders.
We also spoke at the week-long community rally with close to 2,000 people in attendance each evening. We encountered strong spiritual opposition but saw breakthrough on the second night. Many people came to faith in Christ.
Francy Ogle and her team completed a four-year Biblical training process for women from the surrounding community and celebrated with 118 graduates.
Dr. Tim Jones and his medical team had a four-day clinic which provided care for over 450 patients.
Ken Hair upgraded the electrical system for Hope in Haiti’s school and church. It was a great encouragement for their ministry.
The community-wide rally held each night.

The Six Hour Church Service Celebration
The Sunday morning church service was a great celebration which began at 9:00 am and ended six hours later! After an hour and a half or more of worship, I had the privilege of speaking on Psalm 23, while walking around with my wooden staff. It was fun sharing how God is with us even through the shadows and valleys of our lives.
Next, we celebrated with 118 women graduates. Our GTN colleague, Francy Ogle and her teams, provided their four years of training. It was a tremendous blessing to see the women smile through their tears as they received their certificates.
We capped off the morning with an ordination service for 29 men being commissioned for ministry. Pastor Louinet asked me to help with the ordination. I had been teaching the pastors and leaders at the training from l Timothy 3 on the qualifications of an elder, but I had no idea we would be doing this ordination service. It always amazes me to watch God orchestrate His plan!
Each pastor was anointed with oil like Samuel anointed King David. It was powerful to watch! The anointing oil was sprayed on their head with a spray bottle, something I have never seen before. Then it was rubbed all over their head as they prayed prayers of commissioning. It was a moving experience for me because I have been working with these men over the last five years. Pray for Pastor Louinet and these men as they take the gospel to all the regions of Haiti.
Thank you for helping make this happen! Your prayers and financial partnership has advanced God’s kingdom work in Haiti!
