As I sit here writing you I have tears streaming down my face. I just got a call from Pastor Louinet telling me that Jobnel Dorilien, a twelve year old boy in our school in Nan wo died today. It’s the same story…. he had a fever. They took him to the hospital in Dessalines and the doctors wanted to send him to the hospital in St. Marc. There was no money to pay for transportation.
Jobnel was from one of the many villages in the mountains had been living with his aunt and uncle right behind the church so that he could attend school. He was a gentle, kind boy. He was always helpful and had a wonderful smile. I cry along with all who knew him. Knowing that he is in the presence of Jesus is my consolation and I will one day see him again. May healing and hope be with his family left behind here.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, the the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
