Only by the LORD’s hand

BREAKING:
An estimated 700+ people are dead after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the reeling nation of Haiti on Saturday morning. More than 2,800 more were injured as building crumbled and collapsed several cities on the southern peninsula of the island. Emergency workers have been searching for and attending to victims round the clock as many mourn the human losses and search for shelter amidst the crumbled remains of the cities. Obviously, we anxiously prayed and reached out to our friends in Haiti.

We were relieved to hear that the inland area where our ministry work and friends are located, and there was no reported loss of life or considerable damage there, by God’s mercy. Please continue to pray for the hurting people of Haiti in the midst of this tragedy and loss. Pray their peace would be restored and that they would run to the arms of the Lord, in whom is the only salvation.

Even before the earthquake struck, we were preparing to reach out to you with an update. As our work in Haiti carries on, it is important to be reminded that our efforts are not in vainOur Hope in Haiti ministry partner, Pastor Louinet Gilles writes with a note of thanks and and a peek at some of the end results of our “harvest” from years of pouring into the education and lives of young people:Hello my friends,

We have finished with everything in school for this year with the children. Those who are in the graduating class have finished their testing for the state. I am told that they did well.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped support the children and their teachers this entire year from August 2020 to July 2021. I was very happy because the year went well and most importantly we were able to feed the children. Thank you very much for helping me in supporting the students in my ministry in the schools in Nan wo, Kawo, and Savanne Brule.
May God continue to bless you and your families. We pray for you. Thank you again for being our friends and our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.
Pastor Louinet Gilles

Thank you for continuing to think of our friends in Haiti and give of yourselves for them, showing your love, and spreading Hope to this nation of beautiful people.
In Him.
Dixie, for the team
