Guest blog: Aaron on the worshipful, needy Haitians

After spending two weeks serving and living in Haiti, one team member, Aaron from Wisconsin, decided to share about the worshipful yet needy people of this country:

Despite the pain and tragedy, many Haitian people worship God whole heartedly

“Haiti is an amazing place.  The people are great and the landscape is beautiful. At the school in Dessalines, I was blown away by the passion behind the Haitians’ worship and how they truly love to sing to God at the top of their lungs. It is incredible to see the hope that they have.
“But behind the passion and hope there is a lot of work that still needs to be done.  There are still countless numbers of people who have both physical and spiritual needs to be met.  Being on this trip has really opened my eyes to the pain throughout the world.  Seeing pictures of the children and destruction throughout Haiti is one thing, but when you play with the kids and drive past the crushed buildings, it becomes real.
“God has shown me so much through being here and I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to be here. There is still hope in Haiti.”
