Heroes for Haiti
Hero ... one of the definitions identifies heroes as persons with "nobility of purpose."
On Saturday February 6th, there were "heroes" all over the metropolitan area of Denver. There were people of all ages collecting medical items for the doctors who are treating people in Haiti. People were at all of the area Walmart stores, Walmart has heroes, there were people driving Penske trucks that were furnished by Penske, there were fire fighters, various churches represented and a bunch of folks who cared. All are heroes.
Clear Channel led by KOA radio helped spread the word for people from the community to come fill boxes with medical supplies and they did! They came and are heroes. Because of all of these heroes, we were able to collect enough supplies to fill more than one 20 foot container and over $6,000!
We cannot even try to name all the folks involved because that is not why people helped. They helped because brothers and sisters in Haiti needed help. They helped by loving neighbors they don't even know. Thanks be to God!
